Riding with the Kangaroos in Sydney

Arriving from first Southeast Asia with hot temperatures and high humidity and then pretty cold New Zealand, here in Australia i found some awesome days in the fall.

Temperatures around 28°C invited on one hand to do some sporty activities but also still being out in the ocean for some nice surf rides. As you can imagine i choosed first and discovered the streets in and around Sydney by bike. From my hotel it was just a little rolling to be at number one attraction - the harbour with it´s famous harbour bridge and opera house which mostly all people know from astonishing fireworks during new year celebration. From there i followed the coast line heading more northeast to reach the entrance to the bay at Watson Bay and Hornby Lighthouse. From this very steep cliff coastline i moved more to the south but still following the coast. From North Bondi the coast showed a more cosy sight as wonderful beaches like Bondi, Tamarama or Maroubra Beach invited still to enjoy the day like on a summer day.

After these nice spots i finally reach La Perouse located 14 km southeast of Sydney. The La Perouse peninsula is the northern headland of Botany Bay. It is notable for its old military outpost at Bare Island and the Kamay Botany Bay National Park. La Perouse is one of few Sydney suburbs with a French name, others being Sans Souci (by the way Strava profile name of my friend Tommy), Engadine and Vaucluse. Kurnell is located opposite, on the southern headland of Botany Bay.

Heading back to Sydney Center i rode through another highlight - the Centennial Park which is a master piece of nature within a global metropole. Reaching the hotel again i had done one of the most outstanding rides in my life - thanx for that.
