Queen Betty meets Queen Mary

Not the most difficult, but a classic one with a lot of famous names and a very important and many times used for west coast bike riders - the ride on PCH - Pacific Coast Highways.

Eventhough i did already many rides on PCH it was the first time i just had to go in one direction as my colleague Pochi was there to do some installations in our US office warehouse and picking me up by car at the end of my route. As usual i started from San Clemente but this time Queen Mary in Long Beach was the place to go which is nice as you always use the same road going back and forth.

And this time i touched all nice places and famous town names. Already after 10k the nice harbour of Dana Point is worths to touch the look out and enjoy the view. The weather at this point was cloudy and still chilly. Next in line was the touristic place of Lagiuna Beach with it´s nice Lifegoard Tower within the center on the beach - which Betty liked a lot.

After half of the distance to go that day i came to Newport Beach, an area for the rich with it´s big harbour and houses next to it - From your backyard onto your boat. Followed by the sports people paradise Huntington Beach. With it´s nice pier and all this shops and reataurants on main street the place to party.

From there still 20k were to go to the final destination but i could ride with a pretty strong group to get a support and help them on the otherside to keep away from the wind for a while. Then after about 70 kilometers i reached the harbour of Long Beach. There is one ship that is the big attraction there. Queen Mary built in the late 1920ies and early 1930ies sailing primarly on the North Atlantic Ocean from 1936 to 1967 to finally find in Long Beach it´s last and final destination.

A cool ride which made my PCH experience from San Diego up to Malibu almost complete. Still then i have the part from there up to San Francisco to cover - step by step.
