RainbowBridge and heavyRain

Not the first time riding in Japan but first time in the metropole of Tokyo. Before the real loop with Koji-san the next day i made a city loop including a nice bridge and a weather connected to the name of the bridge.

The first time i did order through Cycletrip, a Tokyo based rental and bicycle shop. I decided to get the bike delivered not to waste too much time. Coming from Southkorea and just landed at the airport Narita and took a train to the hotel. A little late i got a phone call in the train that my bike is already delivered to the hotel and a guy is waiting for me - almost a perfect timing. I did the formal things with the guy mounted my pedals, did take off the kick stand ;-) and 1 hour after my arrival i was on the bike.

The tour planning i did on komoot was a city loop hitting a few touristic attractions. First one was the famous Rainbow Bridge located in the district of Minato and crossing a side arm of Tokio Bayin the Pacific Ozean. I thought already that maybe i have to walk my bike but what i did not know was that i got a kind of a transport barrier onto my back wheel. So it was not even possible to roll the bike and anyways the cameras would have exposed and resulted in a penalty. Anyways it was great to see that bridge in detail and it transfered me to more artificial islands having a view back to the city.

Then i found my way over several bridges as i wanted to go more east. But as mentioned i the headline the weather turned into a little taifun with heavy rain. I found a place to escape the rain and waited quite a while realizing that the day will find his end soon. Luckily i mounted the lights and so i decided after a while to hit the rain and move on.

With a little plan change i moved towards the center, if you can call it like this, to reach totally wet Chiyoda the imperial park and palace. Unfortunately too dark to really see it i took my way back to the hotel to see an attraction which also hits in the night - Tokyo Tower.

The little red and white sister of the Eifel Tower in Paris is highlighted to appear like a queen within the night. I could get some really nice pics before also hitting HardRock Cafe in Roppongi. From there already almost dry as the rain stopped i went back to the hotel to prepare for the real ride the next day.
